Prom Project℠ is an effort to collect and distribute donated formal wear so that HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS have the opportunity to feel beautiful for their prom or social. But it’s MORE THAN JUST A DRESS! It’s an EXPERIENCE for high school girls whether they attend prom or not.
Girls get to choose a dress, shoes and accessories from a make-shift boutique free of charge, but as a pre-requisite to shopping, girls attend an interactive 90-minute etiquette class where they learn life lessons on social etiquette.
There is real conversation from professionals on appropriate dining, communication and even dance etiquette. Girls hear from law enforcement experts on prom safety and from experts who offer tips on beauty and fashion. There’s even a fashion show! Parents are able to attend workshops separate from girls.
Then it’s off to shop for that perfect dress! The event is designed to provide girls with not only formal wear, but the skills needed to feel confident, smart, proud and powerful.
