JANINE DAVIS is a radio/TV personality, motivational speaker and the Founder of Girl Talk Foundation, Inc. She is heard by nearly a 100,000 listeners each weekday delivering morning news on WBAV-FM, V 101.9. Janine’s candid, no-nonsense motivational delivery has captured audiences from teenage girls to corporate executives. She is an award-winning 25-year radio veteran and entertainment journalist. Janine has frequently made guest appearances on various television affiliates including ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC.
As a radio personality, Janine has interviewed multiple celebrities from L.L. Cool J., Janet Jackson, and Alicia Keys to national dignitaries including President Barack Obama.
More than a decade ago, Janine started Girl Talk Foundation after having candid conversations with young girls in the Charlotte school system. What she learned would be shocking to most, but Janine did not shy away from the challenge to help the girls. Instead, Janine invited girls (no parents) to have a ‘real’ girl talk’ session led by subject-matter experts. Her first ‘girl talk’ session attracted 200 girls.
Today, Girl Talk offers two youth empowerment programs for girls ages 13-16 designed to give them a safe space to express themselves, get positive information and develop skills to excel in the classroom and beyond.
Janine is from Greensboro, NC and a proud graduate of NC A&T State University. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. If she wasn’t a non profit executive or radio personality, she’d be an actress in Hollywood, married to rapper ‘Common.’
Janine lives by the motto: “Once you discover your greatness, you can be greater than great.”
